Keegan Bradley is keeping all his options open as he prepares Team USA for the 2025 Ryder Cup at Bethpage – including a potential role for golf great Tiger Woods

Team USA captain Keegan Bradley has engaged in discussions with Tiger Woods over a potential role for the 15-time major champion in the 2025 Ryder Cup.

Bradley has been put in charge of the American side for the 2025 edition of the biennial tournament as they bid to win back the title they lost on European soil in Italy last fall. With that at stake, Team USA will be looking to put together the strongest team possible to clinch the crown – and there may be a role for Woods.

While Bradley seemed to keep hype regarding potential Woods involvement at arms length, he didn’t rule out the 15-time major champion being involved in some capacity at Bethpage Black. Woods has featured in eight Ryder Cups spanning more than 20 years, winning the iconic trophy twice.

“I spoke to Tiger a bunch when the announcement happened,” Bradley said. “He was really really helpful, had a lot of great advice. Again, the stress of playing in the President’s Cup and then the playoffs and everything that came with that, I’ve sort of put everything on pause for a second.

“I’ll be addressing that in the coming weeks and months, but I’ve had great conversations with Tiger. He’s a mentor for all of us and he’s got a lot of great suggestions on things we can do as a team.”

Woods’ worst Ryder Cup performance came in his most recent start – at Le Golf National in Paris back in 2018. He went 0-4 for the week as the Americans suffered yet another blowout at the hands of the Europeans, but Team USA will have the advantage in 2025; the last winners on enemy soil was Europe at Medinah Country Club in 2012.

Tiger Woods' controversial reason for sacking caddie with ridiculous net worth

Along with working on his fitness ahead of the 2025 season, Woods is currently engaged in a number of other initiatives within golf. He is involved in the PGA Tour- LIV Golf merger, while the 48-year-old recently announced he is set to design another course in Aledo, Texas.

Woods is also set to debut a new golf league in January alongside fellow PGA Tour member Rory McIlroy. The high-tech golf league, TGL, will feature 24 top PGA Tour players – including Justin Thomas, Collin Morikawa, Justin Rose and the founding duo – in weekly televised matchups at an arena in Florida.

Meanwhile, both Bradley and Europe captain Luke Donald revealed they would be open to including LIV Golf players at the Ryder Cup next year. Just one LIV member – Brooks Koepka – competed at the 2023 edition in Rome, with the other 23 players coming from the PGA Tour and DP World Tour.

Bradley is also interested in potentially becoming the first playing captain since Arnold Palmer back in 1963. The 38-year-old has enjoyed some of the best form of his career in recent months, including a stunning FedEx Cup playoff victory at the BMW Championship in August.
