Fans and fighters alike want to see Gervonta Davis and Shakur Stevenson step through the ropes together.

Part of a elite class of US fighters, Davis and Stevenson are currently both lightweight world champions and undefeated in their campaigns.

‘Tank’ Davis was elevated to full WBA Champion earlier this year and cemented that status by knocking out top contender Frank Martin, adding a 28th stoppage to his 30 wins.

Stevenson fought and won the vacant WBC belt against Edwin De Los Santos this year and then successfully defended it against Artem Harutyunyan. Both wins came over the distance and were somewhat criticised for being less than fan-friendly in terms of action.

Shakur has promised fans that he will truly shine when he is in with the best competition and there is no doubt that is knockout artist ‘Tank’ in a fight that is a fascinating style clash.

Speaking to Matchroom, Jesse Rodriguez named the bout as the one he would most like to see in the sport and backed defensive master Stevenson to get the win.

“Gervonta Davis versus Shakur Stevenson. I think Shakur outboxes him.”

Should the fight be made next year the winner can expect a high ranking on most pound-for-pound lists, joining ‘Bam’ Rodriguez who himself just recently scored another emphatic win in the super-flyweight ranks over Pedro Guevara.

First up for Stevenson looks to face William Zepeda next year providing the champion recovers well from recent hand surgery. ‘Tank’ Davis is set to welcome super-featherweight champion Lamont Roach Jr to the 135 ranks in January for his own defence.

The GOAT is on the road again

Simone Biles had a show-stopping summer with a phenomenal Olympic comeback, leaving a legacy in gymnastics that’s set in stone. Now, the superstar gymnast is captivating fans on social media, offering a peek into life after Paris 2024.

Fans were left speechless as Simone took them on a tour of her new home. To everyone’s surprise, it looks like her husband, Jonathan Owens, might not be spending much time there to enjoy it with her.

An unexpected solo adventure?

Living up to her GOAT status, Simone is hitting the road again with the Gold Over America Tour, set to visit nearly 30 arenas across the U.S. Featuring some of the world’s top athletes, with Biles as the main attraction, the tour will keep her away from home-and away from the Chicago Bears’ safety-for roughly six weeks.

Though she’ll be gone for a while, Simone is ready to travel in style. After giving fans a glimpse of her luxury RV, which will be her home on the road, excited followers filled the comments with joy, thrilled to see her tour in their own cities.

Fans were in awe of the massive tour bus, with some even mistaking it for a hotel. Everyone agreed that a world-class athlete like Simone deserves the ultimate comfort to perform at her best while crisscrossing the country. Jetting around would be far more complicated and uncomfortable

Simone’s followers are more excited than ever, eagerly sharing plans to see her live and cheer her on. With each stop, she’s not only set to showcase her unmatched skills but also inspire a new generation of gymnasts. The tour promises an electric atmosphere, and with Simone leading the way, it’s bound to be a series of unforgettable performances that will leave fans talking long after the final curtain drops.

Mike Tyson is in ‘war mode’ as his crossover clash with Jake Paul edges closer.

The former undisputed heavyweight champion is set to square off with Paul on November 15 in a professional heavyweight clash.

Tyson hasn’t competed in the paid ranks since being retired on his stool by Kevin McBride in 2005.

But ‘Iron Mike’ is determined to remind everyone of exactly who he is.

Tyson recently uploaded a clip of him smashing a sparring partner through the ropes and has followed that up with an eerie promo.

The 48-second black-and-white video opens with a shot of Tyson working out in the gym as a menacing track plays in the background.

As the music builds, some of Tyson’s most famous quotes flash up on the screen.

One reads: “Discipline is doing what you hate to do, but doing it like you love it.”

Meanwhile, there is also an excerpt of Tyson’s speech after his win over Lou Saverese in 2000: “I’m the best ever.

“I’m the most brutal and vicious, and most ruthless champion there’s ever been.”

Tyson then starts screaming at the camera before the video fades to black.

After watching the promo, boxing fans flooded the comment section to give their take on the intimidating upload.

Gervonta Davis might not go through the ropes a second time this year. The WBA lightweight champion’s December fight with Lamont Roach might get pushed to next year because of reasons not in his control. What is exactly happening behind the scenes? Two boxing insiders, Rick Glaser and Dan Rafael, have floated their theories in contrast to each other, with some choice words also thrown in the mix.

Davis, 29, had been speculated to fight Roach, 29, on December 14 at Houston’s Toyota Center. There were also rumors about David Benavidez being part of the event as a supporting act. But it seems that fans might have to wait longer for Tank to make his return once again this year. Rafael, a Nat Fleischer Award winner, turned to his X handle and explained the situation as “50-50” and that the fight could get pushed to early next year. In addition, he cited venue issues for the debacle. He wrote, “Venue issue may be reason I’m told. Might happen as planned but unclear.”

However, Glaser, a long-time critic of Al Haymon and PBC had a different reason for the postponement of the Davis fight. He believed Davis, at 30-0, demanded more than what the PBC was paying him. Glaser had previously reported that the PBC’s current financial woes and the WBA champion’s demands might act as an added burden on the promotion’s upcoming event. Glaser pointed out, “Tank is demanding a lot more than #PBC is willing to pay Tank.”

That’s not all. He also shared Rafael’s post and threw a jibe at him. He rejected Dan Rafael’s speculations of venue issues and again asserted the PBC’s financial struggles. Glaser declared, “That’s Bobaluba from the Fatman Dan Rafael, #TankDavis priced himself out like I Tweeted earlier today, there’s no venue issue, that’s all pure #PBC spin on an ugly situation!!! #Boxing.”

Gervonta Davis has opened up on reports that his next fight is being postponed.

Davis was scheduled to return to the ring against Lamont Roach Jr at the Toyata Center in Houston, Texas on Saturday 14 December.

It is set to be the latest defence of his WBA lightweight title, having defeated Frank Martin by eighth round stoppage in his last contest in June, moving to 30-0 in the process.

Reports have begun to circulate that the bout won’t go ahead as planned though, after Dan Rafael first revealed that it may have to be pushed back.

“Been told by 3 sources involved in the event there’s good chance Tank-Roach won’t happen Dec. 14 as announced on PBC social platforms & by the fighters.

“Venue issue may be reason I’m told. Might happen as planned but unclear. 1 deemed it ’50-50.’ Could get pushed to early ‘25.

“There’s a reason no formal press release or press conference has been made yet. Everything is on hold at the moment until everything is done, apparently with the venue. No issue in terms of the fighter deals, I’m told.”

It was then reported by Boxing Scene that the fight could double up with an upcoming big fight in January.

“One promising solution is to pair Davis-Roach with the attractive light heavyweight bout between unbeaten talents David Benavidez and David Morrell, who are seeking a Jan. 25 Prime Video pay-per-view fight in Las Vegas.”

‘Tank’ has now broken his silence on the matter, taking to social media to suggest that the reports are false.

For Floyd Mayweather Jr., it’s always the best that ‘The Money’ can buy. From prime properties to multi-million-dollar jets and whatnot, the world’s richest boxer is known for his king-size lifestyle. So it’s understandable that for a high-flying celebrity like him, personal safety for himself and family members becomes non-negotiable. To ensure this, he has hired some of the best personnel available, who are all employed as part of his “The Money Team (TMT)”. Surrounded by big, heavy-set men, Mayweather Jr. is renowned for marking an enigmatic entry. However, it appears that affluent living often comes at a price.

Mayweather Jr. and his family often find themselves under the public gaze. Sometimes it leads to awkward situations, even when the former world champion would like to have some uninterrupted personal time. In the latest, a delicate situation unfolded when some passersby tried to record Mayweather Jr. as he strolled down a pavement in South Beach, Florida. However, to their utter surprise, the former champion’s security detail immediately intervened, insisting on stopping the filming.

Online entertainment channel ‘The Bread Batch’ shared the video some time ago. It featured some passengers in a vehicle who caught sight of the unbeaten former champion. “For really…that Floyd ‘Money’ Mayweather…” they conversed among themselves. However, one of the ‘TMT’ bodyguards immediately noticed. “You’re about to crash,” he said.

What?” slowing down the vehicle, the occupants asked as they tried to gauge what he meant. The security guard was now walking towards them. As it increasingly became clear that he had been objecting to their recording, they retorted, “It doesn’t matter; we got the money; we’re outside; we can film; we got money.” You tryin to get froggy fam? We got you tryin to get froggy fam. What? I’m recording, bro.” Mayweather Jr.’s bodyguard asked, “Why you recording?

Finally, stopping, one of the car occupants further insisted, “I can record anytime I want to, bro.” The situation became a bit confusing thereafter. It appears one of the passengers got out to speak with the Mayweather bodyguard. The camera angle wasn’t steady as the footage ended.

Die-hard fans may not have forgotten the ‘Form Voltron’ that Floyd Mayweather Jr. yelled during the press conference of the Conor McGregor fight in 2017. Over the years, especially following his retirement, Floyd Mayweather’s arrivals under close protection seem to have gained a distinct following.

Muguruza is the first former player to be named to the post at the event, which she won in 2024

Former world No. 1 and two-time Grand Slam champion Garbiñe Muguruza, who announced her retirement in April, has been named the tournament director of the season-ending WTA Finals in Saudi Arabia.

Muguruza is the first former player to be named to the post at the event, which she won in 2021.

Weeks prior to the Spaniard, now 30, revealing that her career was over, the WTA announced that its year-end championships, which feature the Top 8 singles players and doubles teams, would move to the Saudi Arabian capital for 2024 on a three-year deal, and offer a record $15.25 million in prize money. On Wednesday, the tour announced its appointment of Muguruza to the tournament director job, where she will “work with WTA, the Saudi Tennis Federation and the Ministry of Sport to oversee strategic planning and delivery of the event.”

She will focus particularly, the tour says, on raising tennis’ profile in the region, and promoting health and wellness initiatives to young people. As Saudi Arabia continues to raise its overall financial investment in professional tennis, which includes title sponsorship of the ATP and WTA rankings, the Saudi Tennis Federation has said that it wants 1 million players in the country by 2030.

Describing the opportunity as a privilege in a statement, Muguruza says she hopes to be able to “contribute to the future” of tennis in her new administrative role.

“I know how special this event is for our top players, and I’ve also seen its potential to inspire communities all over the world,” she added. “I’m excited to work with a great team to present a showcase for women’s tennis that not only grows tennis but encourages all fans, and especially girls and women, to pursue their dreams.”

Muguruza’s appointment adds another name to an increasing roster of former players who currently serve as tournament directors of various tour events, the most high-profile of those being Amelie Mauresmo at Roland Garros. In addition, Muguruza’s former coach, Conchita Martinez, has been in the post for the Billie Jean King Cup Finals since last year.

Novak Djokovic withdraws from next week’s Paris Masters for unspecified reasons; 24-time Grand Slam champion’s spot at season-ending ATP Finals could be in jeopardy; Djokovic currently sixth in race with top eight to compete in Turin between November 10-17

Defending champion Novak Djokovic has pulled out of next week’s Paris Masters, potentially jeopardising his chances of qualifying for the end-of-year ATP Finals.

Djokovic is currently sixth in the race to reach the Turin tournament between November 10-17, with the top eight to play in Italy,

No reason has been given for the 24-time Grand Slam champion’s withdrawal from Paris, with Djokovic writing in an Instagram Story: “Unfortunately I won’t be playing this year. Sorry to everyone who was hoping to see me play there.”

The 37-year-old last played in the third-place play-off at the inaugural Six Kings Slam in Saudi Arabia on Saturday, beating the soon-to-retire Rafael Nadal in the legends’ final match against each other.

Djokovic has won a record seven titles at the Paris 1000 event and beat Bulgaria’s Grigor Dimitrov in last year’s final.

He added on social media: “I have a lot of great memories winning seven titles there and hope to be back with you next year. Wishing all the players, sponsors, organisers and fans a great tournament.”

After a harrowing experience at the 2020 Tokyo Summer Games, Simone Biles decided to seize the crown back on the mat. And the G.O.A.T. did just that by snagging 4 Olympic medals—3 gold and 1 silver. Leading up to the Games in Paris, we witnessed the 27-year-old’s experience during her time in the Japanese capital. But with Simone Biles Rising Part 2, fans will relive the magic of her spectacular Redemption Tour in Bercy Arena.

Katie Walsh helped bring her journey onto our screens. She had the opportunity to follow the gymnast around as she made it through the U.S. Olympic Trials and the Games. However, one poignant moment in the French capital stood out for the director. On October 23, Walsh appeared in a casual sit-down interview with Sports Business Journal’s Rachel Axon. They initially discussed her experience working with the most decorated gymnast in history. But the conversation eventually pivoted to the Olympian’s injury scare.

Simone Biles

Axon elaborated on how Simone Biles pushed through the situation to step onto the Olympic podium. “I mean, she is so tough and determined, and nothing was going to get in the way for her,” Walsh confessed. What really happened? During a warm-up routine on Day 2, the 27-year-old slipped and occasionally tweaked her calf. But right before her rotation, she left the floor with the team doctor. Upon her return, she still seemed to struggle with her calves. At some point, she crawled down the runway for a bit before hopping the rest of the way.

The issue persisted during the women’s gymnastics qualification the next day after she suffered a lower leg injury. She was later spotted soothing her leg while the rest of her compatriots contested on the mat. Katie Walsh recalled watching that moment, “Yeah. I think once you see, you know, what she was going through in those days, you just appreciate so much more.” This could have been a massive setback for Team USA, but the Olympian refused to let it hold her back.

Shakur Stevenson has weighed in on the upcoming Gervonta Davis vs Lamont Roach fight.

Davis is set to defend his WBA lightweight title against Roach at the Toyota Center in Houston, Texas on Saturday 14 December.

It will see ‘Tank’ aim to extend his impressive unbeaten record, which currently stands at 30-0, with 28 of his wins coming by knockout.

Standing in his way is Roach, the current WBA super-featherweight champion who will be stepping up from 130lbs to 135lbs for this contest.

Roach won the belt with a split decision win over Hector Luis Garcia in November 2023, and made a successful first defence by stopping Feargal McCrory in eight rounds this past June.

Gervonta, and Lamont Roach Jr

With the fight between Davis and Roach fast approaching, WBC lightweight champion Stevenson has offered his thoughts on the two rivals in his division, stating that it will be a much tougher fight than most people expect.

“I’m not looking at Lamont the way everybody else is looking at Lamont. I know Lamont is a really good fighter, this ain’t no Frank Martin, that’s all I’m going to say. This is a real good fight.”

Davis beat Martin last time out, stopping his previously unbeaten opponent in the eighth round when thy met in Las Vegas in June.

A unification fight between WBC champion Stevenson and WBA champion Davis has long been talked about by fans, and Top Rank promoter Bob Arum has given his prediction for who would potentially come out on top if they were to meet.
