For Joshua, Wembley is a familiar battleground. This is the arena where he famously defeated Wladimir Klitschko, propelling him to global stardom, and where he later secured a victory over Alexander Povetkin. However, this time, Joshua enters the ring not as the reigning champion but as the challenger, facing Dubois, who was recently elevated to full championship status after Oleksandr Usyk vacated the IBF title.

Dubois, eager to make his mark in the sport, views this fight as a career-defining opportunity. The young, hungry fighter has been preparing rigorously, with his trainer, Don Charles, stating that Dubois is in the best shape of his life. Dubois himself has made it clear that he is ready for the challenge.

I’m just aiming to be the best. To fight the best and beat the best,” Dubois said. “AJ has been the king for a long time, and we all know it, so on the night, I need to become a king-slayer. That’s my goal, and that’s the mission at hand. I’ve improved all around as a fighter and an athlete. I’m really up for this and ready to go.”

Joshua, fully aware of the stakes, remains focused on the task ahead. “I’m not silly, either, I know the game. We’re all in the wild. We’re a pack of lions and hunters. It’s the next man up. I’ve had Dubois on my mind for a while. The goal is just to get through a successful training camp, and then perform on the night,” Joshua said.

With the stadium packed and the stakes high, the clash between Joshua and Dubois is set to be one of the most electrifying events in boxing this year.

Anthony Joshua to fight winner between Fury, Usyk - Daily Post Nigeria

Providing he beats ‘Triple D’, a fight against the winner of Usyk vs Fury 2 for all the marbles is expected to come next.

British boxing fans will be hoping Fury can avenge his split decision defeat to Usyk and set up the long-awaited domestic showdown between him and AJ.

However, Joshua is just as motivated by a trilogy bout with the Ukrainian slickster after dropping a pair of decisions to him in 2021 and 2022.

“He wants to beat Usyk,” Hearn Sr told Sky Sports. “Because the first fight he had with Usyk, frankly he came out second best.

“He went away, he regrouped, he learned, he studied and he still got beat in the second fight. That’s why he got so disappointed in the second fight.

“It’s a split decision and it was close, but Anthony Joshua’s a very special type of sportsman. The money’s great.

“He’s got more than enough money, you could float a battleship if you put all his cash in one locker. But they want to win.

“These people want to win and they want a legacy. I don’t think Anthony Joshua will sleep at night until he is unified.”

UPDATE:Joseph Parker Names The Heavyweight Who Hit Harder Than Anthony Joshua: “I Was Deaf In One Ear”

Even if ‘The Gypsy King loses the rematch, there is a chance Joshua vs Fury could happen next.

“Joshua against Tyson Fury in early 2025 is the fight that we have a responsibility to deliver and we don’t walk away from our responsibilities,” Hearn added.

“We need to do that fight. I think personally that Usyk beats Fury in the rematch.

“It’s easier to make if Fury beats Usyk, because then if Joshua has beaten (Daniel) Dubois then you’ve got the unification fight because Joshua will hold the IBF belt.

One of the most well-known heavyweight boxers in recent history, Anthony Joshua, has captured the interest of spectators everywhere.

With the backing of his Olympic Gold Medal and undeniable outstanding star quality, the Watford native, 34, rose to fame shortly after turning pro.

Joshua started his career with an undefeated 22 fight record, which allowed him to hold three of the four major heavyweight belts.

However, he was impeded in his fast rise when Andy Ruiz Jr surprised him during his American debut.

However, a formidable adversary has recently entered the debate. A challenger to Anthony Joshua for an African fight, similar to the legendary ‘Rumble in the Jungle’ between George Foreman and Muhammad Ali in 1974, is the rising heavyweight Martin Bakole of the Democratic Republic of the Congo.

In a recent interview, Bakole expressed his desire to take the struggle to his home continent by highlighting the involvement of the president of his country and his readiness to serve as an ambassador for Riyadh Season.

Joshua’s career is far from done because his victories over Francis Ngannou, Otto Wallin, Robert Helenius, and Jermaine Franklin have rekindled his ambitions.

Joshua’s newfound partnership with trainer Ben Davison has restored his confidence, and many believe he has acquired the mental toughness needed to compete at the greatest level.

In an attempt to win three world titles, Joshua is now preparing for a crucial bout against Daniel Dubois at Wembley Stadium on September 21.

If he prevails, all eyes will be on a potential unification bout with the victor of the Usyk-Tyson Fury rematch.

At 32-years-old, New Zealand’s Joseph Parker has one of the most impressive resumes in the heavyweight division.

After winning the vacant WBO World Title in a close contest with Andy Ruiz Jr, Parker made two successful defences before losing it in a unification bout with Anthony Joshua. He would suffer another defeat in his next outing against Dillian Whyte.

In a 2020 feature with the Ring Magazine, Parker weighed up his three toughest opponents in Joshua, Whyte and Ruiz. Whilst at that stage he said ‘AJ’ was the best overall and Whyte was the strongest, he says Mexican-American Ruiz hit him the hardest.

“Dillian Whyte did drop me, but with Ruiz, I really felt the sting in his punches. I think it was a left hook he caught me with in our fight that hurt me. From that point on, in the whole fight, I was deaf in one ear.”

Joshua is regarded by most as one of the hardest punchers on the scene but he doesn’t need Parker to tell him about the threat of Ruiz, who served him his first loss back in 2019 via stoppage. ‘AJ’ would comfortable win the rematch on the cards.

Ruiz made a return to the ring this year after a frustrating period of inactivity, scoring a controversial draw with Jarrell Miller in which he suffered a broken hand.

Since those words, Parker has been in the ring with some more heavy hitters. After a bruising stoppage loss to Joe Joyce – the first of his career – he gelled with coach Andy Lee and implemented an impressive a career resurgence that saw him beat both Deontay Wilder and Zhilei Zhang.

The victories leave Parker in as good a position as any of the current contenders. A contracted rematch with Zhang may be next if the Chinese southpaw doesn’t face Martin Bakole. If he does, Parker could be in with the likes of Agit Kabayel or Jarrell Miller.

The debate over who hits harder out of Anthony Joshua and Daniel Dubois rages on.

Ever since it was announced that the heavyweight titans would be squaring off this September, boxing forums have been packed to the brim with theories about which of the Brits carries more concussive power.

Heavyweight contender Frazer Clarke, a former sparring partner of both men, joined talkSPORT’s talkBOXING podcast this week and weighed in on the discussion.

Clarke sparred Joshua for several years during his time with Team GB Boxing in Sheffield when both men were under the tutelage of Robert McCracken.

Meanwhile, he has also duked it out with Dubois, who spent a brief stint with the podium squad before turning over as a professional.

Asked if Dubois hits harder, Clarke said: “On a single shot possibly but I’d say Anthony puts them together better with his boxing style.”

The debate will be settled once and for all when Joshua and Dubois exchange leather on September 21 at Wembley Stadium.

Both men are set to square off for the IBF heavyweight title after Oleksandr Usyk vacated the red and gold strap in order to pursue a second fight with Tyson Fury on December 21.

As a result, Dubois was upgraded from ‘interim’ to full world champion and will make his first defence of the belt against AJ

Several members of the boxing fraternity insisted Joshua had lost the fire in his belly after getting knocked out by Andy Ruiz in 2019, and then suffering consecutive losses to Usyk in 2021 and 2022.

The Watford powerhouse looked hesitant to pull the trigger in his first two comeback fights against Jermaine Franklin and Robert Helenius last year.

But devastating stoppage victories over Otto Wallin and Francis Ngannou in his most recent outings has led many to believe the Brit still has his ruthless streak intact, although Simon Jordan insists that Dubois’ power could give Joshua ‘PTSD’.

I think it’s a fascinating fight,” said the talkSPORT pundit last month.

“I don’t go with the camp that suggests that Anthony Joshua is fully rehabilitated, because ultimately he’s fought fighters that haven’t really hit him back at this moment in time.

Jermaine Franklin had a little go, but ultimately [Robert] Helenius got knocked out without landing a glove on him.

“Wallin was nowhere near him, and with Ngannou Joshua did what should have been done to him by Tyson Fury.

“So I think that if Daniel detonates on him he’ll get PTSD because he’ll take him back to a space where the question is that Anthony Joshua hasn’t wanted to go – deep in the trenches.

“There’s a distinct possibility that Daniel Dubois is going to drag him in there, and if he does, it’s going to be a fascinating fight, because he’s got the power.

“We were writing about this kid three or four years ago, before the Joe Joyce fight, as ‘forget Joshua and forget Tyson Fury, this kid, dynamite, Daniel Dubois is the one to watch’.

British cruiserwight Aloys Junior’s incredible power has the boxing world on notice.

Junior has seven consecutive knockout wins on his professional record, and has ferocious power that has seen him compared to heavyweight legend Mike Tyson.

During an appearance in the talkSPORT offices, Junior smashed the punch machine record, scoring higher than Anthony Joshua and Francis Ngannou who previously hit an arcade machine.

And Junior, who will return to the ring against Oronzo Birardi at York Hall this weekend, has insisted his earth-shattering power is something he carried from a young age.

“I’ve been blessed with great genetics, but overall it has to be work ethic as well,” Junior exclusively told talkSPORT.com.

It is certainly work ethic, I have worked for a very young age on my explosiveness, and I have carried on working hard on it throughout my adulthood and professional career.

“It is something that I continue to work on to this day, my punch power and my explosiveness.

“I struggled to find sparring partners but not so much now, I always used to try and knock them out.

“Nowadays I don’t try to do so as much, I try to use them a bit more for work and rounds.

“If you are trying to knock these guys out, it is fun, but when are you going to spar again? It is very counter-productive.

Anthony Joshua knocks out MMA star Francis Ngannou in one-sided boxing match

“I even wear bigger gloves now around 20lbs, so to make sure I don’t hurt my sparring partners as much.”

Junior has been training under the stewardship of experienced trainer Ben Davison, who is the current trainer of former two-time heavyweight world champion Joshua.

Heavyweight prodigy Moses Itauma, who has also been coined as ‘Britain’s Mike Tyson’ is also a recent stablemate of the exciting young cruiserweight.

Joshua and Itauma have been in scintillating form, in particular the former who has knocked out Otto Wallin and Francis Ngannou since inheriting Davison as a cornerman.

OKAYHis promoter Frank Warren has insisted he is becoming known for becoming the most heavy-handed within the camp.

He said on talkSPORT’s Jim White and Simon Jordan: “A cracking fight between Aloys and Berardi.

“Aloys has been training with Ben Davison, and everybody in that camp says he is the hardest puncher in the camp.

“That camp includes Moses and AJ so it will be an exciting fight, and he is an exciting prospect.”

The 21-year-old has a bright future ahead of him, despite falling to defeat on his professional debut.

Junior took a brave step-up on his maiden appearance, taking on prospect Michal Soczynski, and losing on a narrow points decision.

But Junior believes he can go to new levels after impressing alongside the two talented fighters.

“Ben is helping me get to the next level,” Junior continued.

“He has increase my IQ by like ten times, by really understanding the sport ins and outs.

“Knowing when to do and not to do something, being aware of what is happening in front of you.”

He concluded on his ambitions: “Yeah absolutely I would love to be at British title level.

LOS ANGELES — Jarrell Miller may be fighting Andy Ruiz Jr. on Saturday at the BMO Stadium in Los Angeles but the bruising heavyweight is already looking ahead at future challenges.

The New Yorker is looking to rebound from a 10th-round knockout loss to Daniel Dubois last year, a defeat which he attributes to poor fight management at the time.

Speaking to World Boxing News ahead of the heavyweight shoot-out, Miller said he wants a victory so that he can secure a fight he once had before, but never got to complete.

Miller was due to challenge Anthony Joshua for the WBA, WBO, and IBF world heavyweight championships in 2019, but multiple failed drug tests prevented his participation — and the unified title shot was awarded to Ruiz on short notice instead.

“Most definitely” I want the AJ fight, Miller told World Boxing News this week. “Let’s make it happen.”

After Ruiz stepped in to replace Miller, he shook up the combat sports world by dropping Joshua four times en route to a humiliating loss for the hulking Brit. Ruiz, though, has been unable to capture any of the momentum he had after that night as he gained weight, lost the rematch, and has fought just twice in the five years since.

Miller, meanwhile, continues to chase a big bout.

He said: “We’ll see what happens with AJ next and take it from there, but we’re still here, we’re still young, and we’re still competing at a high-level.”

Because of Miller’s drug history — testing positive for both EPO and HGH — there would inevitably be critics who’ll say the 6-foot-4 slugger has done nothing to deserve a shot at someone like Joshua and shouldn’t be rewarded with that kind of payday after testing positive for such performance-enhancing drugs.

UPDATE:Andy Ruiz Jr planning to fight former rival next if he beats Jarrell Miller – but not Anthony Joshua

Matchroom Boxing CEO Eddie Hearn has suggested that former heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua may be nearing the end of his professional boxing career, Saturday PUNCH  reports.

Speaking to BoxNation, Hearn expressed doubt about Joshua’s long-term future in the sport, stating, “I don’t think he has four or five more years in him, but who knows?”

The promoter indicated that Joshua, who turns 35 in October, might only have “three, four, five, or six more” fights left before hanging his gloves.

Joshua is set to face Daniel Dubois at Wembley Stadium on September 21, in a title fight to be broadcast live on TNT Sports Box Office. The bout comes after his knockout victory over Francis Ngannou in Saudi Arabia.

Hearn emphasised Joshua’s willingness to take on any opponent, saying, “AJ would fight anybody. He would be happy to fight Ruiz again. He’s not going to be around forever.”

Despite hinting at retirement, Hearn also outlined ambitious plans for Joshua’s future, including a potential undisputed title shot against the winner of the Tyson Fury-Oleksandr Usyk rematch scheduled for December 2 in Riyadh.

“Part of me would like to see AJ beat Dubois and then fight the winner, Usyk-Fury, twice. If you won those, imagine winning those and then calling it. That would be unbelievable,” Hearn added.

Andy Ruiz Jr has reportedly pilled on 5.4lbs since his last outing.

The former unified heavyweight champion returns to the ring on Saturday night after a two-year hiatus to face Jarrell Miller on the Terence Crawford vs Israil Madrimov undercard.

Heavyweight Who Was KOd By Joshua And Dubois Has No Doubt Who Hit Harder: "I Lost My Senses" - Seconds Out

Last time out, he defeated Luis Ortiz via unanimous decision in a WBC eliminator bout in September 2022 after weighing in at 268.8lbs (19.2 stone).

Ahead of his upcoming clash with Miller, Ruiz Jr has tipped the scales at 274.4lbs (19.6 stone) during a behind-closed-doors weigh-in.

That is according to respected boxing journalist Lance Pugmire, who has also reported that Miller is over two stone heavier at 305.6lbs (21.8 stone).

For Miller, it is his lightest weight since 2018 and a 27.4lbs drop from his last fight against Daniel Dubois.

Meanwhile, Ruiz Jr’s weight is his heaviest since his rematch with Anthony Joshua in December 2019.

Ruiz Jr shocked the world in June 2019 when he knocked out Joshua to become WBA ‘super’, IBF, and WBO world champion in their inaugural encounter.

For the first fight, Ruiz Jr was 268lbs (19.1 stone) but when he ran it back with AJ six months later he was a whopping 283.5lbs (20.2 stone).

The stocky puncher blamed the 15lbs weight gain on ‘partying too much’ after winning the world titles and looked extremely sluggish as he laboured to a wide unanimous decision loss.

He will have to put on a far better display against Miller at Los Angeles’ BMO Stadium if he hopes to return to the upper echelons of the heavyweight division

Elsewhere on the bill, Crawford and Madrimov made championship weight for their WBA super welterweight showdown

Crawford came in at 153.4lbs (10.9 stone) while the Uzbek weighed in at 154lbs (11 stone).

Isaac Cruz and Jose Valenzuela’s WBA super lightweight title fight will also go ahead with the champion making 140lbs (10 stone) and the challenger stepping on the scales at 139.8lbs (9.9 stone).

In the other heavyweight bout, Martin Bakole was 284.4lbs (20.3 stone) while Jared Anderson was 252.4lbs (18 stone).
