Not all rematches are warranted, but plenty of people will be happy to see Tyson Fury and Oleksandr Usyk go at it once more later in the year.

JUST IN: Frank Bruno Reveals His Tyson Fury-Oleksandr Usyk Score: “He Won That Fight”….

The first contest was two elite heavyweights at the top of their game. Both men were unbeaten, both with great skill sets, physical attributes and strong mindsets.

TYSON FURY AND DEREK CHISORA

When all was said and done after the 12 rounds, it was Usyk who got the nod on points, largely due to imposing himself in round nine when Fury seemed just seconds away from being stopped as he sprawled around the ropes.

Fury has since said he was enjoying himself to much in the ring and that he will not be doing the same thing again in the second fight.

Speaking to iFL TV, former Usyk victim Tony Bellew was asked if he could see a way that Fury can win the rematch.

“Course I can. When you’re 19 stone and 6 ft 6, 7, 8, 9, whatever he says he is, course he can. Mate, if I was 6ft 9 and 20 stone I’d invade Russia, never mind fight.”

Bellew is still picking Usyk to get his hand raised again, but isn’t ruling out ‘The Gypsy King’ getting revenge.

Oleksandr Usyk vs Tyson Fury

“I do still believe that [Usyk will win] but it doesn’t mean [Fury] can’t.

We all seen him hurt Usyk. That’s the first time I’ve seen Usyk hurt to the chin. I’ve seen him momentarily dazed but that’s the first time I’ve seen him genuinely shook to his boots, but then what does he do the next round? He comes back and puts it on you, because that’s the fighter he is.

But can Tyson Fury win? Absolutely. That big, that heavy, that good, which he is good, Tyson Fury is an elite-level fighter but he’s coming up against a fighter he can’t really figure out. And a style he’s always going to struggle with, and that wasn’t the best version of Usyk.

The best version of Usyk will go on the back foot, this guy walked forward all night with his hands up. If this guy gets on the back foot, you ain’t landing a glove on him but he chose to walk you down and bully you.”

Out of all the men he has faced to become a two-weight undisputed champion, Usyk recently named Derek Chisora as the hardest puncher of them all.

According to promoter Bob Arum, we might finally get a clash between these two lightweight titans

JUST IN: Gervonta Davis’ trainer has no fear and challenges Floyd Mayweather to a fight against Tank…

Ukrainian lightweight Vasyl Lomachenko was once at the very top of the world and looking indestructible, just like Gervonta Davis feels today. At a certain point during that great moment for ‘Loma’, even people like Joe Rogan were talking about him for his skills. Right now, it doesn’t feel like anybody can defeat Gervonta Davis, which is one of the main reasons promoters want this fight to happen in the first place. If anybody has the skillset to potentially defeat ‘Tank‘, that man is Vasyl Lomachenko. Because if Loma finds his best form again by November, we could be in for one of the best fights of 2024. There is no question about that and everybody who loves boxing would watch it.

Gervonta Davis AND Vasyl Lomachenko

Bob Arum confirms Gervonta vs Lomachenko?

During a recent interview with Fights ATW, legendary promoter Bob Arum revealed he has been talking to Lomachenko’s manager, Egis Klimas. It was a meeting at a restaurant in Beverley Hills. That’s exactly where Arum dropped the bomb, one of the fights every boxing fan would want to see. This is what he told Fights ATW during the interview” “We discussed Loma. Loma is coming here (this week), and we will sit down, and he will tell us what he wants. My feeling is, reading Egis, that it’s a Gervonta ‘Tank’ Davis fight. It’s a Vegas fight, MGM or T-Mobile. We’d decide a date where there are openings.”

Gervonta Davis VS BOB Arum AND Shakur Stevenson

So, November 2024 in Las Vegas. That is the potential date but Arum did mention that this was the first time they talked about it. We will likely have a few months worth of negotiations before we get a final date and a venue. As far as where this fight might take place, the two options are the MGM Grand or the T-Mobile Arena. If this is announced over the next few weeks, we can already start speculating and wait for the show these two will put on during the press conferences leading up to the event. We are ready for another great fight to close out the year.

Oleksandr Usyk unified the WBC, WBA, IBF and WBO belts after a points win over Tyson Fury in May but relinquished the IBF belt last month and mandatory contenders could emerge to threaten the Ukrainian’s other titles

JUST IN: Frank Bruno Reveals His Tyson Fury-Oleksandr Usyk Score: “He Won That Fight”….

Oleksandr Usyk’s reign as the undisputed world heavyweight champion was brief after he handed back the IBF belt, but will more belts be ripped away?

The Ukrainian star produced a spectacular victory over Tyson Fury in May to unify the WBC, WBA, IBF and WBO titles, but just a month later, his reign as the undisputed king was over.

Contracted to rematch Fury in December, Usyk was unable to make a mandatory defence of the IBF belt, that meant Daniel Dubois, the organisation’s Interim belt-holder, was upgraded to full champion in June.

Oleksandr Usyk AND Tyson Fury VS Daniel Dubois

Usyk confirmed he was relinquishing his IBF title with a video on social media and Anthony Joshua will challenge Dubois for the IBF belt at Wembley on September 21, live on Sky Sports Box Office.

Could Usyk’s other titles be under threat?

Former champion Joseph Parker earned a WBO Interim heavyweight strap in March when he beat Zhilei Zhang and the New Zealander can push for a mandatory shot at the full world championship.

Parker is “next in line” for a crack at the WBO belt, according to his promoter David Higgins.

Claressa Shields beat up a ‘troll’ in a heated sparring session on Friday.

As a result, she relished the opportunity to share the ring with aspiring boxer Jodeci Chadwick, who is set to make her pro debut soon.

TERENCE CRAWFORD

Chadwick has been publicly exchanging words with Shields for an extended period of time.

Unlike most of those who trash talk pro fighters on social media however, she actually turned up to the gym to put the gloves on.

Shields happily accepted the challenge and the pair began a sparring session.

After little more than 30 seconds, Shields had Chadwick backed up against the ropes.

She did not hold back like in a regular sparring session.

Shields began to pummel her helpless opponent until coaches stepped in to separate the pair.

Chadwick then seemingly took issue with the gloves she was wearing and refused to fight any more.

This infuriated Shields who had to be restrained while trying to attack her further.

Shields posted the footage to Instagram on Friday.

She captioned it: “I can’t believe this punk ass girl pulled to the gym after trolling me for months and couldn’t last more than 30 seconds. I damn near killed this h**.”

Chadwick replied with her own post.

It read: “Yes, me and Claressa Shields fought today and no she ain’t beat my ass. She felt me and they stopped it, that’s the truth.”

Following a fascinating first encounter, Tyson Fury and Oleksandr Usyk will renew their rivalries on December 21.   When these two heavyweight champions first met in May, it was the first time the undisputed title had been contested since Lennox Lewis won it almost a quarter of a century before.

In a close fight, both men had periods of success, though it was the Ukrainian southpaw who landed the standout blow of the battle and sent Fury spinning around the ropes to earn himself a knockdown.

After 12 rounds, he was awarded a split decision win to become the holder of all four major belts plus the Ring Magazine and lineal title, six years after doing the same down at cruiserweight, and 12 years after becoming an Olympic gold medalist.

Speaking to the Criminal Connection Podcast, former WBC heavyweight champion Frank Bruno was asked for his view on who won the fight and said he scored it in favour Usyk.

“Usyk won, I think. You can’t really deny that. You can try and go round the corners or whatever but Usyk won.”

Since the final bell, Usyk has admitted he made mistakes that will not be repeated in the rematch, while Fury has said he was having too much fun and next time will get the job done properly.

Former Fury victim Dillian Whyte has claimed it could be hard for ‘The Gyspy King’ to turn things around in the second fight given the toll previous battles may have taken him and mindful of the fact that Usyk’s confidence will be through the roof after winning the initial meeting.

Zhilei Zhang knocked out Deontay Wilder in the fifth round of their fight in Riyadh with an explosive right hook that floored his opponent.

Wilder had been knocked off balance by Zhang’s previous blow and then the Chinese heavyweight closed in to finish the job.

It capped off a remarkable night for Frank Warren’s Queensbury promotion in Riyadh, who completed a clean sweep over Eddie Hearn’s Matchroom Boxing.

In truth the fight looked as if it would go Zhang’s way all along.

Zhilei Zhang VS Deontay Wilder

He landed a big right hook in the second round as his American opponent struggled.

Turning up the heat in the third round, he subjected Wilder to constant pressure and suppressed the lethal right hand of the Bronze Bomber.

Wilder punched his own chest at the start of the fourth round to try and fire himself up for the contest but couldn’t land many blows.

In the fifth round, he was sent spinning by a right hand from Zhang and crumpled to the floor after a hammer blow from his 41-year-old adversary.

Lennox Lewis has been giving his views on the upcoming fight between his old foe Mike Tyson and young YouTuber turned boxer Jake Paul.

This controversial bout was originally set for July but Tyson had an ulcer flare-up that delayed it until November 15. The officially sanctioned fight will last for eight two-minute rounds with no headgear and will count on both men’s pro records.

Lennox Lewis and Tyson Fury

‘Iron’ Mike hasn’t fought professionally for over 20 years since he ended his career with a pair of defeats, while Paul stopped his last opponent Ryan Bourland in the first round and is on a mission to prove himself in the sport.

Speaking to FX 29 Philadelphia, Lewis admitted he would be watching the fight.

“Yeh course, you never know what’s going to pop up. I’m happy for them, they’re going to make a good bag, a lot of kids love Jake Paul, a lot of kids love Tyson, they want to see what’s going to happen in the ring to both of them. Me too.

He was then asked if he was siding with Tyson.

Jake Paul AND Mike Tyson

“Mike Tyson is going to win. Mike Tyson is not that old. Don’t take him too softly.”

At 57 and as a former world champion, the host wondered if Lewis still had the level of skills to fight someone like Paul.

“No. You got to look at the age. You can probably fight somebody like that and do well cause they’re not a true fighter and there’s a 100 things you’ve forgotten that he’s learning. Age will be a determining favour if the fight goes too long. But if Mike comes with a 10-second combination and catches him, he’s 100% [going down]’”

Before news broke that it wouldn’t be just an exhibition fight, Lewis was originally pleased as he didn’t want Paul ‘to get hurt’.

“I’m glad otherwise I would feel really bad for Jake Paul, I don’t want him to get hurt”

That the fight is happening at all is a surprise given Tyson once said he would never fight the YouTuber.

Did Devin Haney make a huge mistake taking up the Ryan Garcia fight? After all, he was knocked down three times in a single night which ultimately led to a Majority Decision loss for ‘The Dream’. The cold and calculated undefeated boxer had no answers for the onslaught that Garcia brought inside the ring. But, the 25-year-old boxer was handed a saving grace.

RYAN GARCIA VS DEVIN HANEY AND CLARESSA SHIELDS

JUST IN: Gervonta Davis’ trainer has no fear and challenges Floyd Mayweather to a fight against Tank…

The New York State Athletic Commission (NYSAC) found Garcia guilty of taking the banned substance Ostarine, and declared his win against Haney a ‘no contest’Alas, ‘the Dream was vindicated! But the damage was already done. The fight made him lose face in the industry and damaged the possibility of securing potentially lucrative fights. Remember how Haney’s promoter, Eddie Hearn and Matchroom Boxing, decided to not bid for the fight against his mandatory challenger Sandor Martin? However, throughout the entire fiasco and online slander, there was one woman who stood by Haney’s side, Claressa Shields!

Off late, Shields came down hard against a fan on social media who claimed that ‘King Ry’s’ win against Devin Haney was legitimate. But an obvious fallacy in the person’s logic had to be called out. Garcia coming in over the weight limit for the fight was not the issue, but something glaringly obvious was.

Ryan Garcia VS Devin Haney

An internet user who goes by the name of @NukeUndisputed on X, wanted to make a case for how having a significant weight advantage in the fight did not guarantee a victory. In light of the matter being discussed, Ryan Garcia was roped in. You might remember how Garcia came in at 143.2lbs, 3.2lbs above the required weight limit. Taking this example as a case study, he went on to cite a few recent instances where a boxer with a significant weight advantage over his opponent lost. Among them, Ryan Garcia’s brother Sean Garcia who got stopped by Amado Vargas in the sixth round of a scheduled eight-round bout, also got a mention.

SEE MORE: Gervonta Davis’ trainer believes Vasiliy Lomachenko will delay fight to give other boxer a chance…

“Ryan Garcia’s younger brother Sean Garcia copied Ryan’s plan of missing weight by 3lbs against Armando Vargas and just got stopped. Gio Cabrera missed weight by 2lbs and got stopped by William Zepeda. Danny Jacobs came in 2lbs over Shane Mosley Jr. and got stopped. The idea that weight is why Devin Haney lost to Ryan Garcia when Devin is supposed to be superiorly “skilled” is incorrect. He lost because he wasn’t good enough,” the user wrote on X.

CLaressa Shields

But Shields pointed out one obvious flaw in his long X post. Unlike Ryan Garcia, other fighters weren’t on PEDs. “Hahaha he lost cause Ryan was on PEDs wtf is wrong with you,” the 2-time undisputed champion wrote on X.

Garcia’s A-sample as well as B-sample before the fight against Devin Haney came back positive. Subsequently, Garcia was given a one-year suspension, forfeiture of his million official contract purse, and a win against Haney overturned, as punishment by NYSAC for failing the drug tests. The problem was only compounded by the recent expulsion order from the WBC due to his recent Islamophobic and racist remarks.

Meanwhile, the former junior-middleweight champion, tired of his social antics, urged ‘King Ry’ to take some accountability for his actions.

Go look in the mirror!

Safe to say that Ryan Garcia is down in the dumps. But, despite his long list of penalizations, he seems to be attacking anybody who doesn’t agree with his narrative. Sometimes, his attacks are downright crass. Such was the case when Shields was subjected to nasty DMs filled with crude remarks from Ryan Garcia. “I’m saying you said my mom don’t got cancer crack head. Are you f*king an idiot. Dumb a*s crack head read b*tch. Screenshot b*tch.” One of Garcia’s DMs read.

In the mood to give an appropriate reality check to Garcia, Shields wrote on X, “Man @RyanGarcia you are a piece of shit! You use your platform to lie and mislead the people. It’s sad. And now that your roller coaster is going down you are pointing the finger at everyone else! Go look in the mirror! You are the problem! You are The reason. Stop using…”

Is ‘GWOAT’ justified in her actions to torch Garcia over his long list of misfortunes? Or does Garcia deserve every bit of criticism he has been getting? Let us know in the comment section below.

Tyson Fury and Anthony Joshua have been two of the biggest heavyweights in British boxing in recent years, with the two seeming to be on a collision course ever since we can remember. However, that wait could finally come to an end in 2025.

Deontay Wilder and Francis Ngannou

JUST IN: Joe Rogan speculates ‘the fix was in’ for Tyson Fury vs. Francis Ngannou boxing match…

Despite the fact they are the two biggest names in British boxing, ahead of Joshua’s meeting with Daniel Dubois for the IBF world title in September, a former sparring opponent of both Fury and AJ has revealed that there are two Brits that punch harder than the poster boys.

Former cruiserweight champion Lawrence Okolie has sparred with both Fury and Joshua, but has named Dubois and teenage boxer Moses Itauma as the hardest hitters he has faced off with.

“I think he’s probably one of the hardest punchers. Him and Moses Itauma are the two hardest punchers I’ve been in the ring with, whether that’s sparring or fights.”

Lawrence Okolie’s History With Fury & Joshua

Anthony Joshua & Tyson Fury AND Lawrence Okolie

Okolie has sparred with Joshua a number of times over the years, but Fury made the former Olympic boxer part of his training camp before his first meeting with Deontay Wilder in 2018.

Following the 2016 Olympics, the 31-year-old became one of the most sought-after names for the biggest stars in boxing as a sparring partner. Joshua’s next opponent, Dubois, is another name the former cruiserweight has shared the ring with as a sparring partner, with Okolie warning just how hard he hits. Itauma has also shared the ring with Okolie, however, and the 31-year-old was also full of praise for him.

High Praise For Moses Itauma

Okolie spoke highly of Itauma’s ability, comparing him to a teenage Mike Tyson as he pointed out the 19-year-old has the hardest punch he has felt. Given that that is in a sparring capacity and not a competitive scenario, it speaks volumes of what the teenager’s opponents would be feeling when they share the ring with him.

Oleksandr Usyk AND Tyson Fury VS Daniel Dubois

Itauma is currently unbeaten, with a record of 9-0. Seven of those victories have come via knockout, which highlights even further what Okolie has praised the teenager for with his punch. Not only did the 31-year-old compare the 19-year-old to Tyson, but he also tipped Itauma to go to the very top of the sport.

Joshua & Tyson Set For Collision Course

The British duo have long been predicted to face off in the ring, with it being frequently labelled the most anticipated fight in British boxing history. That prediction looks set to come true within the next year, with the two predicted to meet as early as December of this year.

Joshua’s most recent fight came against Francis Ngannou, who had lost to Fury before meeting with him. Meanwhile, the Gypsy King met with Ukrainian Oleksandr Usyk in the first undisputed title clash in 25 years, which saw the latter emerge victorious.

Following his victory over the former UFC star, many had speculated the possibility of Joshua meeting the winner of the clash between Fury and Usyk, but with the Gypsy King off the table, and Joshua’s upcoming meeting with Dubois, that appears to be unlikely.
